CRISTINA PRIMITERRA. Born in Wollongong,
New South Wales, Australia in 1964 from Italian parents, lives her
childhood in the uncontaminated Australian landscape and the coralline
beaches. Forced to leaves her native country, at 13 years old to
Italy, in Riva del Garda, the native town of her mother, where grows
up immersed in a new culture.
At 23 years old decides to meet her father again and returns in
Australia for a short period of time. From that journey, her trips
in Australia become more frequent and her permanence in the country
longer. There she discovers her childhood and sensations she had
forgotten. The contact with the land and the aborigine culture strongly
touches her inner part and influences her thought. Such feelings
and colours become paintings in one of her trips in the wetlands
of Arnhem Land.
Today, the colours and the symbols of the aborigine culture are
the marks of her work of art in Italy. Her original profession,
the travel agent, allows her to continue her inspiration journeys
in the kangaroo’s land.
